So, to begin with, I had mentioned in my WWW Wednesday that I would soon be writing a book review for the novel “ THE GIRL WHO DRANK THE MOON “ as soon as I finish reading it! And I kept my promise!

The best part is that this is my TWENTY – FIFTH BOOK REVIEW!

So, without any delay lets begin!

This book belongs in the category of fantasy. Well, I love fiction books and I am sure even you all do! So then, I can promise that you will surely like this fabulous book.

This book is all about witches, swamp monsters, dragons, moon magic and not to forget tons of magic!

This story revolves around the city of Protectorate which has believed from generations and generations that a witch with a tiger’s heart haunts the forest near and around their city. It is said that to keep oneself safe from the clutches of the witch, one must abandon the youngest child in the city to the witch so that she can devour its taste and in return not harm them. Though it is totally the opposite! The witch, who calls herself Xan is kind, protective as well as loving to all. She is confused that why the people leave their cute and sweet children into the deadly forest once every year on what they call as the “Day of Sacrifice”! She feels pity on those young kids and thus, every year collects them from the woods, travels across the forest to the Free Cities where the people are more than happy to adopt those cuddly children and give them the love they want.

On the way to the forest the witch feeds the children starlight to keep them fit and healthy always. But once when she was carrying a little girl across the forest, she accidently fed her moon light. Now, moon light “is” magic, it can actually enmagic anyone who drinks it…

So, now the witch decided to adopt this girl and keep her safe. She named her Luna.

Luna, being a toddler did not know how to use her magic and was causing a havoc everywhere. Xan tried her best to teach her, but it was of no avail…

Read this book to see how the young girl is taught to control as well as use her magic and what all difficulties they face while doing this! And all of this is told with a sweet yet elegant twist of magic, suspense, thrill and fun!

Well, now can I disclose everything to you all? Of course not!

I think that this summary is enough to give you all the basic crux of this book and also convey how engaging and fascinating it is!

I myself really enjoyed reading this, and was totally hooked up to it till the very end…

I surely recommend you all to read this amazing book. And do not forget that you are never to small or too old to enjoy the thrill of this marvellous book! So, DO READ IT!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Oh yes, it’s written in English. The author is from Ireland and the story is based in an Irish village, but the book is in English. There are a few Irish words mentioned here and there, but it’s not written in Gaelic 🙂
