Hello Guys ! First of all, I just wanted to say sorry for basically disappearing for two weeks. And I can’t wait to answer the sweet comments you left me💖 Aside from that, I’ve also had zero inspiration to write any posts? There’s one novel that I really want to review ( Keeper of the lost cities) It is just amazing and you all should definitely read it !!
So, if you haven’t guessed already, today’s post is going to be a collab with the lovely Evin@A Curly Sue’s Rambling where we guess book summaries from their cover !! Evin is so sweet and funny and I’m so glad to have found her in the book blogging community 🥰. Don’t forget to check out my answers on her blog.
RIDDLE OF THE DAY : So you need to guess the book title from it’s summary . It might sound tough ! But don’t worry they are quite popular books and plus there are hints
It’s not everyday you find yourself in combat with a half-lion, half-human.But when you’re the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster.Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive…Hint : The book is written by Rick Riodran
Smaug certainly looked fast asleep, when Bilbo peeped once more from the entrance. He was just about to step out onto the floor when he caught a sudden thin ray of red from under the drooping lid of Smaug’s left eye. He was only pretending to be sleep! He was watching the tunnel entrance!Whisked from his comfortable hobbit-hole by Gandalf the wizard and a band of dwarves, Bilbo Baggins finds himself caught up in a plot to raid the treasure hoard of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon.Hint : This book is written by J.R.R Tolkien
Winners : Hearty Congrats to Deeksha Sindhu and Potterhead Aanya
Evin’s Guess : Oooh Enid Blyton! I feel like I’ve read a book from this series last year? I’m not sure bc I don’t remember what I read. my guess is: Malory towers is a school, and students are coming back from summer break? there are also 3 girls on the cover… ehh Idk…
Actual Summary : Dear Darrell, What a term. The dreadful Bonnie is following me everywhere and Amy has a strange family secret. But June and Freddie are always playing tricks on the teachers to keep us laughing. Wish you were here. Love Felicity Welcome to the next generation of students in the classic boarding school series There’s mischief at Malory Towers.
That was pretty close. Good job😊
I was surprised by this book! I am always wary when someone takes a beloved author’s work and continues on with an established series. But Pamela Cox has done a wonderful job with this series.Of course Darrell leaves Mallory Towers at the end of Enid’s last book, so she only features at the beginning. Then Felicity takes the reigns, and I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed reading about her. I wondered whether she would inherit her father’s temper too, but it was not the case. Also there is another old favorite, June. I enjoyed reading about her too.

Evin’s Guess : I have never seen or heard of this book, or the author. “Wonder” that title is not helping at all. *looks for details* oooh look there’s a quote on top. “You can’t blend in when you were born to stand out” WOAH that’s so deep. I see.. a boy, and he has one eye. I’m trying to see if I can figure out the meaning of the image, and the quote. I’m guessing the boy has some kind of disability and he’s treated differently than other kids his age?
Actual Summary : August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. Wonder, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others.
Wow Evin ! You were right. You are getting great at this 😁
A normal boy, with an unusual face, starting school for the first time in his life.
August was born with facial abnormalities, went through lots of operations, but his face still looks far from normal. Now he’s about to start middle school, and because he’s been homeschooled by his mom ever since, he’s both scared and excited. This book. It’s Amazing. Wonder was a fabulous children’s story about accepting differences and the courage of being yourself. I’m not going to go into any detail about Auggie’s journey through his first year of middle school. It’s one you should discover for yourself. Although, Palacio’s initial inspiration for this story was a little girl she saw outside an ice cream shop, this is a work of fiction. Not surprisingly, this was an incredibly emotional story. At times, it was downright depressing. However, I couldn’t help but fall in love with Auggie and his resilience. This story broke my heart, but it also inspired me.
“If every single person in this room made it a rule that wherever you are, whenever you can, you will try to act a little kinder than is necessary—the world really would be a better place.
Like Evin told the qoute on the cover was so deep . This one is as amazing and my favorite one from the whole book 🙂
Evin’s Guess : I’ve heard the name “Artemis Fowl” before, but I don’t know where…? I think Artemis Fowl is a teenage spy? the cover has the word “Criminal” in it. he’s a part of a squad, and he’s trying to find someone or something. or maybe just solve a mystery in general.
Actual Summary :At just twelve years old, Artemis Fowl is a criminal genius. No Scheme is too dastardly, no plot too devious. And he’s just discovered that fairies are real. Poor fairies. But these are not the cuddly creatures of bedtime stories. They are armed. They are dangerous. And when Artemis captures Captain Holly short for her fairy gold, he messes with the wrong elf. Holly isn’t armed but she’s incredibly dangerous and pretty annoyed with all the kidnapping. Artemis Fowl is about to find out that fairies fight back..
The guess was spot on and once again you are correct 😉
It was a brilliant story! So unusual and compelling. The characters are so well written and diverse, everything from goblins to centaurs, and they each have their own unique personalities and attributes. The plot is outlandish, but so interesting and different. However the main character comes off a bit stoic, especially at first. True, he is an anti-hero, but he was almost too unrelatable at first. Still, his character improves as the book progresses, and by the end, the reader wants to know what happens to him (and the other characters) in the next book.Artemis Fowl is fun and easy to read with charming characters and an interesting battle of wits. A fast paced light read about a boy genius trying to steal some fairy gold. My interest is piqued and I will definitely be reading more. To read my whole review click here
