DIY Tutorial#3 : Brush Painting + My First Sketch!

” ALWAYS “

The above quoted words are a very famous dialogue from a series…..

So, identify the book series they are from along with the character from the book series who said the above word!

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”

The above bookish quote is said by which famous author?

The winners of my last post who answered the riddle correctly first were Asmi ( for the first riddle ) as well as Tiction ( for the second riddle )!!

Hiya Amigos! How are you all doing??

Well, today I have am going to give you all a small tutorial about “ BRUSH PAINTING “. It looks impressive and is also very easy to make! It is just of 6 steps. Now, come on, how difficult can that be??

Don’t worry, I will give you all a easy, step – by – step tutorial for it!

Step 1 –

Take a A3 size blank white sheet ( you can customise it if you want ) and fold it into half ( do as per size requirement ).

A3 SIZE SHEET FOLDED INTO HALF…

Step 2 – ( Optional, but looks extremely good if you do it )

Take a smaller sheet than the one used in the Step 1 ( it can be of any shape and size ) and place it on the sheet you took for Step 1. It will kind of work like a stencil which will let the covered part remain blank so that you can write or do some drawing on it.

NOTE: If you want you can brush paint the entire sheet and write or draw on top of the paint too!

Also, i would be showing this tutorial USING a stencil…

Step 3 –

Take a bowl of water with a LARGE SURFACE AREA. Also, take some paint bottles, brushes and a old toothbrush.

I prefer to use light colors for brush painting as they are easily distinguished and also don’t make the painting too shabby. But, of course, you can use dark colors too. Do as per your choice or interest!

Step 4 –

With the help of the paint brush, apply some paint on the toothbrush bristles and QUICKLY ( so that it does not dry ) dip the bristles  into the bowl of water.

Step 5 –

Next, with the tip of your fingers vigorously move the bristles above the paper so that the paint splashes and sprays all over the surface.  Do this with all your colours one by one.

After brush painting with all the colours it looks like this…

Step 6 –

Once done, remove the stencil. You can observe that the part under the stencil is blank and the remaining part is brush painted! Voila, you are done! Wasn’t that simple??

After removing the stensil it looks something like this…

Now, you can write or draw in the blank space and show your artistic skills!

Hope this helped you to understand the brush painting technique in a much easy way!

Some, of my templates are –

These are all of various color combinations.

Hope you all liked it. If you have any doubts, then PLEASE do ask me in the comments below. I will be more than happy to answer them all!

Now comes my first sketch! It was the first time in my entire life that i tried making a sketch….I did not come out as good as i wanted but it was satisfactory enough for me!

IF U INSIST ON GIVING SUGGESTION, THEN I WOULD SAY THAT THE FACE COULD HAVE BEEN A BIT MORE ROUND AND THE OUTER-SHAPING COULD HAVE BEEN IMPROVED, AS IN THE CASE OF NECK AND BELOW IT

      1. Oh, alight. Thanks for letting me know.:) I love your art but I don’t think I would be the best person to suggest improvements since my drawing talents is about as real as cows jumping over moon, and certainly not even close to your level.😁

No prob, was just seeking your opinion on it…Anyways, even your point is true….but don’t be so harsh on yourself….i am sure if u work hard then u will be able to make art much much more better than me….so be optimistic dear💖💖😊
